TERRITORIAL-ECONOMIC COMPETENCE AND INTERSECTORAL SPECIALIZATION OF THE BUKHARA REGION IN THE ZARAFSHAN REGION

The thesis analyzes the territorial and economic potential of Bukhara region as an integral part of the Zarafshan area, its intersectoral specialization, and the characteristics of utilizing natural and economic resources. The study highlights the region’s role in the national economy, including its share in GDP, industry, agriculture, investment, services, and foreign trade. The strategic significance of Bukhara region’s oil and gas industry, construction-materials raw-material base, agricultural sectors, and tourism infrastructure is emphasized. The thesis also examines, on a scientific basis, the region’s labor resources, employment structure, natural-economic regionalization, and the economic functions of administrative-territorial centers. Furthermore, it evaluates the industrial-agrarian potential, transport-logistic position, and historical-cultural heritage of the region as key factors contributing to the overall development of the Zarafshan area.
