FEATURES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RAILWAY TRANSPORT SYSTEM OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE IN THE POST-REFORM PERIOD

This article analyzes the process of formation and development of the Russian railway network in the period after the abolition of serfdom based on factual data and statistical indicators. Railway construction is considered as one of the main drivers of industrial growth, and its influence on the formation of a single national market is highlighted. The study notes that railway transport was a decisive factor in accelerating economic transformation and changing the industrial landscape of post-reform Russia.
