Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of two major literary works by the American classic Jack London and the prominent representative of Uzbek literature Utkir Hoshimov. The research focuses on the artistic means of representation, symbolic imagery, and methods of psychological analysis in the novels “Martin Eden” and “There is Light, There is Shadow”. Through illustrative examples, the article explores the poetic devices such as metaphor, antithesis, and sarcasm employed by both authors to construct character portraits, describe social environments, and express the internal emotional experiences of the protagonists.
