This article analyzes the importance of a genre-based approach in developing legal writing competence in future lawyers. The communicative purpose, structural structure, and linguistic features of legal documents are explored based on genre theory. The results of the study show that genre-based teaching effectively develops the skills of creating, analyzing, and applying legal documents.
