This article scientifically substantiates the methodological conditions and pedagogical opportunities that serve to develop students' conceptual thinking in the process of higher education. The study analyzes the content of conceptual thinking, factors of its formation as a competency, and methodological mechanisms for organizing the educational process. The article highlights the practical effectiveness of an integrative approach, problem-based learning, reflective activity, project-based learning, interactive and visual-methodological tools in developing conceptual thinking. Also, diagnostic assessment, a competency-based approach, and the structural organization of educational content based on a system of concepts are indicated as important factors in improving the student's analytical, modeling, and scientific inferential thinking skills.
