Abstract

This article examines the origin, development, and evolutionary stages of the fantasy genre in Uzbek and English literature through a comparative-typological approach. The English literary tradition is represented by the works of Mary Shelley, H. G. Wells, Jules Verne, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and J. R. R. Tolkien, while the Uzbek literary tradition is analyzed through the creative heritage of Said Ahmad, Tog’ay Murod, Abdulla Qahhor, Hamid Sulaymon, and contemporary Uzbek fantasy writers. The study demonstrates that the fantasy genre is a universal literary phenomenon that develops within the specific national and cultural context of each literary tradition while preserving its universal artistic characteristics.
