Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is one of the oldest and most valuable subtropical fruit crops, cultivated primarily in subtropical and temperate climatic regions. In Uzbekistan, pomegranate cultivation is also considered one of the leading sectors of agriculture and the food industry. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the anatomical and morphological structure of the pomegranate plant, its biological growth characteristics, phenological development stages, floral dimorphism, the chemical composition and medicinal properties of its fruit, and its requirements regarding environmental factors.
