Abstract

Intragastric balloons are used for the endoscopic treatment of obesity. This study aimed to assess the safety and effectiveness of the Orbera 365™ balloon, with removal after 12 months. The study included 20 patients who underwent balloon placement between September 2023 and July 2024. The median baseline body mass index was 36.30 kg/m². The median absolute weight loss in the entire cohort was 15.36 kg. Among patients whose weight was recorded at balloon removal, median weight loss was 15.88 kg and total body weight loss was 15.38%. Two patients required balloon removal because of intolerance. The findings describe weight reduction during follow-up and highlight the importance of regular patient follow-up.
