THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE LEXICOGRAPHIC DESCRIPTION OF PEDAGOGICAL METAPHORS

This thesis examines the lexicographic description of pedagogical metaphors and their scientific and methodological parametrization. Metaphors used in educational discourse help make abstract and highly abstract concepts more accessible to students’ perception and facilitate the effective transfer of knowledge. The study analyzes the cognitive-metaphorical theories of foreign and local scholars, identifies the cognitive models of pedagogical metaphors, and develops a six-stage lexicographic parameter for representing them in dictionary entries. It also outlines criteria for distinguishing between normative and deviant (dysfunctional) types of metaphorical units.
